Thank you Sen Murphy for taking a stand against these criminals. Trump is a complete and total fraud. The country will very soon be being led by a fifth grader.

Thank you Senator Murphy. Are we getting close to a "Let them eat cake" moment? Our nation is now obviously under the control of the oligarchs you described so well. The irony is that so many people didn't vote to oust them. Guess we have communicating to do! Time to make some good trouble - some NOISE!

I think that since Trump is guilty of insurrection he is not eligible to be sworn in to any government office.they need to refuse refuse certifying his becoming president per the 14th Amendment part 3. He is not qualified.

Dems need a better communication strategy to make sure the public knows it is Trump and Musk who are responsible for the shutdown. If the house tries to pass a strictly GOP bill Dems should not provide the needed votes. Trump can raise the debt ceiling when the $ is needed for his tax cut.

You're right, but the Dems lost because they can't message on the right platforms.

It's expensive, colonizing Mars and thereby "saving consciousness." Did you know it's why Elon wants to colonize Mars? It's to "save consciousness." And honestly, you know, if you don't get it, you don't get it. You do get to pay for it, though. Really. Go get 'em, Senator. :)

The people want all of Musk’s contracts with the federal government CANCELLED and put out for competitive bid!

I think the contracts are fair. I'm not in favor of attacking Musk's businesses.

Little OT, but this rant from Eric Weinstein about funding and "The Science" is righteous and productive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPZKIvaQTs8

Senator: if I was a government contractor who benefits from the US Budget and I directly threatened our elected representatives to get the budget I wanted to benefit me financially I would be violating the law and I would arrested and charged. There is zero doubt in my mind that if I did what Elon Musk has done I would be charged with a crime. Why is Elon Musk being allowed to threaten our elected officials and blackmail them into shutting down our government so he can financially benefit by getting the budget he wants?

This Musk and Trump abuse of our government has GOT to be halted! This country doesn’t exist to make billionaires richer!

Senator Murphy, as a constituent, I really appreciate the messaging you've been doing lately. Please keep it up especially on non-traditional media!

Elon Musk’s growing influence in political decision-making, particularly his vocal opposition to a bipartisan funding bill ahead of Donald Trump, highlights the dangers of unelected billionaires shaping public policy. Musk’s actions, including his leadership role in the proposed "Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)" and significant financial backing of Trump’s campaign, blur the lines between private ambition and public governance, raising serious concerns about accountability and democratic norms. This consolidation of power among the wealthy elite threatens to erode trust in government institutions and sidelines the voices of ordinary citizens.

This scenario underscores the urgent need for clear boundaries between private influence and public governance. Without such safeguards, unchecked power risks undermining democratic principles and fostering governance that serves a select few rather than the broader public interest.

I did not realize that we illegally elected a South African man as defacto President Musk or did I just see the former President Trump soon to be 47 Completely and totally COMPITULATE (bend the knee) to Musk, after Musk said he did not want that bill to pass.

Why the hell are voters interested in having rich a$$holes running the country, which is always only for their benefit? Are they so stupid as to believe that rich equals wisdom? That's like Trump believing that Musk is smart because he's rich. It's a stupid mistake. There's no other way to describe it accurately.

Thank you for your leadership, throughout the entire gop CR- Mumps saga. It was really helpful to have your perspective and wisdom communicating with the public, about why Mumps was walking around with an axe in his hands: ready to hack away at government services and programs that benefit the poor, elderly, veterans, children, - and by hacking away at these services, it frees up our tax dollars to be redirected to benefit his subsidies. It was so helpful to have you explaining the events, as they were unfolding, between Mumps and their serfs in congress.
