I think it’s generous of you to say the press “fell” for the illusion. The fact is these folks are fellow Americans who are in a profession where they know better. Their decision to omit, soften, or otherwise circumvent the unadulterated truth makes them complicit in the plot to establish a supreme imperialism in a country that was founded on the basis of freedom from tyranny. The fact that Trump has resorted to retaliatory mob-tactics to threaten the people he is supposed to protect is one of the most blatantly dissonant things I’ve ever seen.

Thanks for your bravery in speaking truth to power and in continuing to keep us updated no matter we are (I’m in Ohio).

I agree 100%. The Major “for profit”media has capitulated to Orange Caligula, fearful that he’ll have the FCC pull their license.

Trump is not serious about addressing the drug problem in the US. He pardoned Silk Road dark web market creator Ross Ulbricht.

DT isn’t serious about anything but more money for himself. He’s a pretend president who pretends

to solve pretend problems. The mainstream press is playing along with him. They write about whatever

faux crisis they are fed by the White House— they’re

a lost cause.

He wants power and he wants to weaken the US. Once we accept that he’s a traitor then it all makes sense.

It's a scripted reality show everyday. Those bastards that created the Apprentice laid out the model. Every day is chaos and crises. Stay tuned to tomorrow as Trump again, gets a win for 'Murica.

Susan, totally agreed. However use the correct initials: FDT, not an insult to FDR, but accurate initials.

It’s good to hear your voice, Senator Murphy. I proudly supported you when you were my senator in CT. And I’m still proud to support you as a Rhode Islander.

We need more Democrats to speak out with courage as you did today. Thank you for your service. Keep going!!!

Yes, it’s time to upgrade Schumer out of the picture. All though he was the one who responded to the wackidodle moves by TRump, who tried to steam roll changes.

Yes. He gave an interview to Semaphor *today* in which his advice to Democrats was to "just wait". And where he crowed about Trump releasing the J6 rioters as if it was a 'win'.

Thank you for posting this, we need more of it to make sure it’s breaking through. Heather Cox Richardsons newsletter then next day explained all of this and more, but I wondered how many people it would reach.

It's unsettling how many aspects of our society are capitulating to this bully. So far he's been very effective at wearing people down with all of this hyper activity. THANK YOU Senator for calling this out. By the way, WHERE is the Dem Senate leadership on these confirmation hearings? Is there no coordinating strategy anymore? Today's Kennedy hearings were ABYSMAL! Poster boards of onesies Senator Sanders? REALLY? Dems CAN DO BETTER!

Please work with other Democrats in the senate to get this type of message, the truth, out to most Americans, who only hear the White House lies! Talk passionately and daily about these types of things (there are and will be enough to fill a daily press briefing) as united Democrats. Go on news, podcasts, whatever. Be the opposition, the voice of truth and facts. We need leaders to speak out!

Dear Senator,

Bravo!

As one of your constituents who receives your emails, I wish you would post everything you

write, as in yesterday's America Belongs to the Billionaires. Right now with the mid-terms in 2 + years, it feels like we are already on the path to Trump's July campaign promise "In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good..." What can we do as the citizens of this endangered democracy?

My understanding, and I could be wrong because I only know what was reported, is that Petro objected to the treatment of the deportees. Is that true, and if so, did he secure better treatment for them?

Thank you for your message/post, I appreciate your sharing.

I do think there was a smidge more to the issue - related to the Colombian President objecting to shackling and military aircraft, but I agree with the overall message of your post!

It would be good for Democrats all to consider, for future election of president, I think, that there are certain attributes of the Trumpian entity that many Americans have come to appreciate (even if they have either ignored or don't really understand the horrific actions he takes), simply because they found him/it more "relatable" than VP Harris (and Pr Biden)...

1- speak plainly!!! It is one thing to not answer questions directly (most pols dont, sorry), but Trump does speak plainly. This is something I would ask you to observe, please, in our leaders -- who do and who don't... There are very few (% wise) Americans with sophisticated speech, and need to have them on board...

2- utter unquestionable confidence! He/it puts his thoughts out there, and he/it stands behind them, without question or equivocation. But, he/it lies, lies, lies... there must be a way to show firm confidence in position/idea, without lying or misleading...

3- never back down -- he/it always finds the wind-around to justify (mostly via lies, partial truths, omissions) his/its stance, but there must be ways to stand firm in facts!

4- be accessible -- more so, take ALL opportunities to be accessible (and see #1) to any/all audience members -- learn to mix with folks without standoffishness... Trump is tooooooo smarmy (Republicans think it is charm), but there must be a middle ground between detachedness and smarmy-ness! :)

5- energy -- have and be perceived as being on-top and engaged at all times, and NEVER veer off into lecturing...

I know this is something, not sure what, but please think on it?

Personally, I think you should consider whether you could be a Democratic alternative! :)

Thanks again for your consideration and postings, sir!

Sorry, but I strongly disagree, trumps plain speech is complete bullshit. If you didn't think Kamala Harris was relatable, or Joe Biden wasn't relatable ,I'm baffled . Joe Biden was one of the most relatable presidents we've ever had,he and Obama .

I am a voting Democrat.

I agree with your thoughts about how Democrats feel about these people...

BUT, they LOST. It does not matter what you and I think -- we do not need to be convinced.

What matters is what THOSE other people think -- and THEY think the way I described.

Perhaps the Democrat candidates need to reach THOSE others?

Consider this, please.
